When I started Ganbaru 4 months ago the main goal was being disciplined but not living a disciplined life. I wanted to live life in the present moment and focus on myself with what was in front of me. I choose Ganbaru because I felt that I could realign my mindset to change my physical training, mental training, and other aspects of life. Over these last four months I have learned more about myself than I ever have because of the time I put into myself. This was not a 16 week challenge but it was a lifestyle change. I made sure every single day that I woke up completed my research on fitness through the Ganbaru app, completed and logged my workout, and counted my macros. Doing all of this was intense and I messed up more times than I could count but I stayed determined and didn't quit. At the same time I made sure to get out of my comfort zone and enjoy other aspects of life that included friends and family. I recently went on a trip to a music festival to Miami that I planned right when I started Ganbaru as a way to reward myself for the mental and physical advances that I made. Throughout the whole process I had a positive mindset because Coach Eugene made it perfectly clear through his lectures how to live a balanced and happy life while training. Also a huge goal of mine was making noticeable changes by really focusing on the macro and micro details. Because of Coach Eugene and even Sharelle, the more I read and watched Ganbaru, the more I transformed as a student of the game. My goal was fat loss and to keep og gain strength. Something i actually managed! My diet has been very consistent and has been pretty strick during the work week. Sleep is better, and over all well being. Before I started using the app i was doing the same exercises with the same weights. Now I\'ve gained strength, gotten better technique in all exercises. It was tough 12 weeks for me. Had a relationship break down and IT hit me really hard. Training and focusing on my goals helped me get through this. In the meantime I\'ve started going through psychology books again which helped me as a trainer understand people around me and the ones I work with. Moreover I realize that I work with a person, his/her history and emotions. Not just the body. I had a tough time sticking to a plan 100% which I thought might be a problem, but realized that longterm goals are more important and sometimes life just surprise us and there are more important things to do and training is not 100% or nothing and just 80% is good enough. Physique was an side effect, fortunately for me, I\'ve come to that conclusion long time ago :) Strength goals are still my priority and Im working on them!
I started this at 7 months post-birth of my second kiddo wanting to build better habits of taking care of myself while raising my littles. My physical goals were to gain strength and muscle and both have dramatically happened (cracked 400#'s on my glute bridges too 🍑). I'm currently 2 full clothing sizes smaller than starting (which is 1 size smaller than I was before being pregnant). I'm shocked by that because I'm not a stranger to training but I am new to doing just lifting. More importantly, I wanted to prove to myself that I can be consistent with training for my own self-care and mental health while raising my daughters (now plural), being a good partner for my husband, and making career gains (as much as my sleep-deprived brain will allow - ha!) (and remodel a new house for us all. This has been the most packed my life has ever been and typically I would have let my training slide. This time I didn't do that and I'm so very much better for it. I didn't think I could make it but the routine became easy and the dividends have been so great. Thank you.
Ganbaru has completely changed my relationship with food, and for the first time I don't feel like the only way for my to get results is living on 1200kcal but rather having the room in my calories to eat to properly fuel my body. I feel confident in my strength and confident in my ability to fail at something and keep going. I even missed a week of workouts due to getting a pretty bad ear infection, but I took the time off that I needed and got straight back to it once I felt I had recovered. Normally when I have finished a workout plan I'm straight online looking for the next one but I don't feel that need now. I feel like I have created a routine that works for me and I can keep going in the future. Honestly, the information provided on here is life changing. Besides the physical result which I'm happy about I'm more proud of the lifestyle I now lead. Before discovering Ganbaru I always thought results only came from working out and nutrition. I've now put more emphasis on getting good sleep, mindful eating and stress management which is something I never thought about before discovering Ganbaru. Because I didn't go to any extremes I'll be able to continue doing this for a lifetime!
For the first time in all of my fitness life that I truly have a healthy relationship with food. No more cravings and counting the days till my next cheat meal. No more "I can't eat that". I trully feel relaxed and no longer think about my next meal during the whole day.
I have always struggled to stick to a goal - a deficit or a bulk. I have always resided somewhere in the middle, making some progress, but nothing crazy. This 12 week challenge I was in a deficit. I didn't lose a crazy amount of weight, but my body composition seems a lot better. After a little more of a deficit, ill feel ready to undergo a lean bulk.

I have more energy running after my two young sons and my body is responding better to my rehab from previous knee surgery where l can play with my children without fear of hurting my knee again. When I first started Ganbaru I had just gotten out of a long term relationship and was feeling really down on myself. I was lacking motivation and direction and couldn't get a good night's sleep for the life of me. In all honesty I forgot about the ganbaru challenge but this has been the biggest three month of fitness growth I've had in years. I don't see my changes but my family does. In the first time I years I have been doing a minimum of two actual rest days. My focus has been to challenge all of my old habits and mentalities to see if what I feared would actually happen. You see, this recent season of fitness started very balanced then everything so slowly bad trainers encouraged bad habits took over and I was deep in the intense training daily. I saw no results and lived in fitness fear: fear of getting fat, fear of not progressing, fear of falling out of routine. It was truly a depressing cycle. Starting this cycle I vowed to challenge that all and follow the program as written; blindly trust you Eugene! The impact has been profound because everything I thought I knew I am realizing I didn't. I am realizing that life is so much more than the sad obsession that I developed and most importantly I have gained time with my family and friends! Not only have I not gained fat but I am actively gaining strength which brings with it confidence! Thank you
My journey was about finding my love for training again and changing my daily habits to get my mind healthy again after having a premature baby and finding my mental health had declined. I decided to get back into the gym and focus on building stability and strength and working on correct movement and bracing and I decided to track my calories to keep me accountable during this time. Not only did my mental health improve, but so did my strength and daily habits. I got out daily with my baby to do my steps, I made sure I nourished my body abd ate enough as I breastfeed. I am so happy that I took on this challenge, my mental health is so much better and I have found my passion for training again.
