DESCRIPTION OF WORK:

This position is responsible for the assistants of rules for a variety of public establishments including restaurants, meat markets, lodging, bed & breakfast homes, camps, local confinement, educational & wellness intendance institutions and water supplies serving these establishments.   Duties include: Authorizes local health section personnel through delegation of authority which allows local health departments to behave inspections and enforce rules on behalf of the state. Performs surveillance and investigates diseases outbreaks. Provides supporting documentation for local health department accreditation Coordinates outbreak investigation efforts with local country/federal agencies Monitors and coordinates product recall efforts of potentially contaminated foods Provide technical assistance, consultative services, and educational outreach to the regulated industries, local wellness departments, and the public. This is a dwelling-based position serving the southeastern portion of N Carolina. MINIMUM Education AND Feel REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor s degree from an appropriately accredited establishment with coursework in physical and biological sciences and iii years of professional experience in environmental health;  OR an equivalent combination of teaching and experience.
